Stitch and Thor are busy serving Chili samples to some of the troops from the U.S. Navy detachment located out at Sheppard Air Force Base. They all loved the chili, by the way. For more info, see this link: http://www.sheppard.af.mil/

The bloodmobile from the Southwest Oklahoma Blood Institute was there taking blood donations. They were also giving away a free t-shirt, drink and snack with each donation, so Gunner & I heading on down to give and collect..For more on the Blood Institute, see this link:  http://obi.org/

Inside the bus, you had to sit in a little cubicle to fill out the info required. If you were claustrophobic, you'd have been in trouble because that booth was smaller than the driver's compartment in an APC. Here is Gunner, all crunched up inside.

Here is another view of Gunner in that little cubicle

PaPa in the green t-shirt, stands in front of the B.A.C.A. talking with some of his B.A.C.A brothers and sisters.
Back at our booth, Bandit & Stitch are having a good time enjoying the weather, cook-off and, of course, my company...  lol
You can tell by the way Bandit is looking at me that he is thinking of something along the line of  where he'd like to stick my camera....lol

The results are in..The Guardians of the Children-Red River Chapter won 1st place in People's Choice, 1st place in Mild Chili, 1st place in Biker Organization and 2nd place in Showmanship. From left to right are: Thor, Chopper Tim, Cookie (wearing the 2nd place Showmanship medallion), Gunner (holding the first place cash awards), Stitch, Bandit (holding the 1st place People's Choice trophy) and Snapshot (me) on the end.

Here is Cookie holding the 1st place Mild Chili trophy, wearing the 2nd place Showmanship medallion, holding the 1st place People's Choice Award and with the cash award envelopes on her        chest...All in all, a VERY good day for Cookie. Of course, we knew her chili was going to win because it is that good..

Going back under cover I see Bandit & Stitch doing something. So I walked on over and took a look see.
What the deal was, we were out of containers to take home the left over chili in. So, Bandit improvised and found a bottle. Then he cut a hole in the bottom of a Styrofoam cup and poured chili into the cup, which then went thru the hole and into the bottle. A pure case of Southern ingenuity at its best!!

The cook-off over, Bandit and Gunner, with the help of Stitch and Thor, dismantle the tent.
Getting ready to leave, Bandit gets ready to mount up. Gunner is behind him, putting his equipment onto his bike
All ready to go. Gunner, Chopper Tim and Thor fire up their bikes. AFTER YOU, MR. PRESIDENT!!
Bandit pulls out and the others fall in behind him
Gunner pulling out and begins his 75 mile ride home. Bandit & Stitch are about 55 miles,Thor about 10 miles and Chopper Tim lives here in the City That Faith Built. Cookie is about 25 miles or so from here and in here SUV. She had that thing packed to the max when she left here, as did Stitch in her vehicle.
Chopper Tim heads out. He told me that bike has a 111 cu. in. motor or about 1819 cc.
And Thor is the last bike from our contingent to leave, seen here pulling in behind Chopper Tim. And this will conclude this post.

I had a great time today being with my brothers & sisters of the Guardians Of The Children-Red River Chapter and it was great, as always, to see Freebird, NaNa  & PaPa and meeting the other folks in B.A.C.A.-Wichita Falls Chapter. We may all be in different clubs but it was our love for motorcycles and riding that got us to where we are today and in that sense, we are ALL brothers and sisters in the wind.
